I was able to nab this when it was free, and after going through it, searched to see if there was a hardcover version of this available.One of the few cook or recipe books that I’ve downloaded that is formatted for a Kindle. Instead of chapter numbers we’re provided headings for the different types of dishes. And a table of contents with links to the specific recipes can be found if you start paging backwards from the beginning.
The recipes themselves definitely do have a “comfort” quality to them and are loaded, for the most part, with ingredients that are easily found. The sad thing is, if I hadn’t had the chance to get this when it was offered for free, I probably wouldn’t have bought it. And yet now that I’ve seen it, would gladly pay a hardcover price.

Some recipes I have never heard of before in this collection. Some new, some really old, some from Chicago 's diverse ethnic heritage. Glad I downloaded it and I've enjoyed reading the whole thing before starting the cooking.
I was disappointed in this one. Although the desserts looked great, I need to steer clear of those! I am in the market for something my family will all eat. Things with ingredients like "sousse" are not it. Yuck!
Some look like the can be prepped and frozen, if my tummy can handle the wait. There are so many terrific recipes in this book to try. Definitely a keeper & good cookbook to add to your collection! (I have a few)

This recipe book has some great recipes in it and I've made a few with great results. Believe it or not, I can actually find comfort and satisfaction in just looking through the recipes when I have a snack craving. Funny how reading a soup recipe can stop a craving for chocolate. lol
